The Place

Our workshop occupies two Cotswold stone Victorian barns surrounded by forty acres of land, half of which we have planted with mixed hardwoods.

As well as the workshop we have a showroom open all year (see 'Contact Us' for opening times), and a gallery where we hold or host exhibitions (see 'News').

The People

Barnaby Scott

Proprietor and one of the original founding partners of Waywood. Barnaby is the 'ideas man' and experimenter. Always ready to try a new material or technique, and genuinely one of the few innovators in this genre of work. Barny's vision has led our development into the area of experimental CNC machining and related areas such as rapid prototyping. He is a Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen, and now also lectures on the unusual combination of CNC technology and highly skilled hand craft in our work.

Clive Brooks

Joined Waywood in 1990 after completing an apprenticeship in a respected workshop in High Wycombe followed by an HND in Fine Craft at Buckinghamshire College [1]. He is now senior designer and craftsman, overseeing all elements of the work we produce, and takes major responsibility for project management.

Simon Smith

Joined Waywood in 2004 after completing a BA (Hons) Fine Art at Staffordshire University, and training and subsequently working for internationally renowned designer-maker David Savage [2] He has since trained extensively in computer aided design, and now also works with Barnaby to produce the CNC based elements of our work, in addition to the more hand crafted pieces.

Jered Allcock

Joined Waywood in 2012 after completing a BA (Hons) in Furniture Design and Craft Rycotewood Furniture Centre in Oxford, and subsequently working both for a local workshop making bespoke furniture, and as a technician at Rycotewood.
